Project 8 - Awards Night

Time flies eh?
My first semester is coming to the end.
Before that, we had an Award Night as our last project.
The purpose of this event is to award those who has done well in the projects for semester 1 and also most importantly, to let the hair of the fellow zombies down.
It was rather an amazing and exciting night. The theme itself was very fun.So guess what is it?

Drum trembling....

It's 'THE LOST KINGDOM'.

Everyone, yes everyone is required to dress up according to their kingdoms.
The list of kingdom was..

1. Langkasuka - Urban Planner

*Photos are shown below*

2. Sivijaya - Architecture

*The one on the left*

3. Majapahit - Quantity Surveyor

4. Singhasari - Interior Design

5. Riau Lingga - Construction Management

6. Mataram - Building Technology

7. Kerajaan Pagar Riung - Building Surveyor

The Award Night was to be held 4 days after the open ceremony of exhibition day.
Again, we were occupied for the week.
However, I'm really glad to have my fellow course mates around.
Some of us really contributed a lot and make this event a really successful one.
It was indeed impressive by seeing everyone worked so hard (while enjoying the process) to fulfill the theme requirement.
For instance, a lot of us had made our own costumes. I want to highlight, it was PURELY HANDMADE.
Even though we were not-so-good at performing on stage, yet everyone paid their best efforts to make their items entertaining.
In short, we enjoyed the night!

There, the handmade costume.Credits to my course mates, this was done by them.*Applause*

The grand opening by my course.*Wave*
As a reminder, ITEMS ABOVE ARE ALL HANDMADE.*GRIN*

Project 7 - Exhibition

First of all ,I need to welcome myself back to this little space of mine.
I've abandoned it for quite sometimes while I was busy with this project followed by the Project 7.
To begin with this post,I will tour you a short introduction for this project..

As you can see,we were doing an exhibition to 'show off' our first semester hard works.
In order to do so, each respective courses need to set up booth for themselves.

It was located at the Drum (our exhibition hall just in case you were wondering), School of Housing, Building and Planning.

It was a week event with the theme' Floating Lines'.
Well, you may see a lot of lines in the pictures below...
This was taken during the preparation.Obviously everyone was busy touching up.
We used 3 days to prepare for this.I can say it was hectic and sleepless nights.
Booth for Construction Management and Quantity Surveyor.
Booth for Building Surveyor and Building Technology.
Booth by my coourse- Architecture booth. Yay!
And last but not least the award winning booth - Interior Design and Urban Planning.

Want more?Okay la..Give some sneak peak...
This is the highlight of the event. Basically, it was just cotton lines hanging on the ceiling of the hall.
We used projector to project the lighting effect on the upper part of the wall.It was magnificent when it shines through the wooden lines.
The staircase to the second floor.I know what are you thinking- Lines, lines everywhere..

Group pictures with fellow course mates and lecturers.
That's me and one of my drawing during the exhibition day.
Okay, that's all for now.
Bye!

Project 6 (cont')

It was one of the hardest I've been facing .
We need to manage a lot of things like cost, times, wood joining skills and materials selection.
Our goal is to make the proposed design come to life and it's in 1 metre height.
The most challenging part was that the main material for our stage model is timber.
As we never handle a real hard timber before, we were in the hardships.
In the preparation weeks, we were working like a carpenter, cutting, sawing, hammering and etc.
Gleefully, our hard works paid off and we were really excited when our model has completed.
It takes about 5 men to carry the model,You can imagine how heavy it was..
This is the front view. The ramp on the right is mechanical- it's meant to be kept underneath the stage when it's not in use.
The side view.

Models from other groups.

The end.

Study trip to Pulau Langkawi

EXCITED!EXCITED!EXCITED!

It was a 3 days 2 nights study trip Pulau Langkawi .
A great opportunity to discover the magic and enchantment of Langkawi’s legendary past and experience the rich tapestry of its customs and traditions.
Just fyi it is made up of 99 islands!

This was my second times there but still the trip was amazing.
I'm so grateful to have my friends and lecturers there to make it a blast!
As you know, we were having so many projects continuously ever since the semester started.
A tension release gateway indeed.

1st day:
Arrived at the destination.
Chill, sight-seeing, on site sketching (man-made structure) and BBQ.
We were welcomed by this beautiful scenery at the jetty.
Had this Thai-style Mee at a coffee shop.Remind of Thailand very much.
Why hello handsome !
Sorry for turning you into a cutie pie ><
Love the atmosphere even though it was very hot.
Yes,I was shocked to see buffalo in front of our motel -.-
