Project RAG161 Building Construction: Wakaf Making

What is a Wakaf?

Definition
Literally Wakaf means to stop, contain or to preserve. In shariah, a Wakaf (plural: awqaf) is a sadaqah jariyyah (recurring / ongoing charity), a voluntary charitable endowment, from ones’ personal belongings or wealth in the form of cash / property for shariah compliant causes.

In my hometown, it is also known as a small rest house built in a Malay traditional way. It's simple, unique, beautiful and very suitable for bonding purpose.

For RAG161 Building Construction (one of the subject I have to take),
in a group of 5,
we have to make a Wakaf based on a real one.

So this is the Wakaf that my group have found at Sungai Ara Mosque.

It was very interesting because I never noticed how gorgeous the small structures can be
and how cool it is formed by different kinds of joints.

Our group managed to complete it within few days times.

So below is the end product...

Closed up to the joints.

It was quite costly because basically the columns and beams were made up of Balsa wood.
However, I have fun toying around with it as it is very easy to handle with.

The visual presentation:

That's all for now.
Bye~:)
